(Prior to their first interview, volunteers will have time to review the poster and portfolio of the student they will interview. Students will enter the gym as a class and proceed to their display/portfolio table. Student and interviewer will shake hands and introduce themselves. A  few icebreaker questions may be asked of the student prior to the interview. Students should answer honestly and with spontaneity.) Students can use their display boards, evidence, and binder to assist them with their interview.

1. What is your greatest strength as a learner? Please share work sample/s from your portfolio to support your choice.
2. As a learner, where do you need the most improvement? Please share work sample/s from your portfolio to support your choice.
3. One of the Student Learning Expectations (SLE’S) is to be an active learner. How did you use your active learner skills to effectively collaborate in a group project? Please share work samples from you portfolio to support you choice.
4. Two of the St. Mary School Student Learning Expectations, is to be a person of faith and a responsible citizen. Discuss how you might use these principles as a high school student.
5. Active participation and time management skills are important attributes for effective students and employees. Describe your St. Mary School experience in these two areas.
6. Describe one of your service learning opportunities. What surprised you about this experience? Did this experience lead to a transformation (change in perspective, or call to action) and if so, why?
7. What do you see yourself doing in 5 years? In 10 years? (The student learning portfolio should provide evidence these goals are realistic.)
8. What else have you included in your portfolio that you would like to share? Did this Student Learning Portfolio help you with reflecting and evaluating your schoolwork this year?

The students will also have created a Philosophy, Mission and Core Characteristics statement.
