Mrs. Heidi Wierzba

PHILOSOPHY:

Before beginning my work in the classroom, I worked with children of all ages in various settings such as swimming pools and preschools. More than anything, I will attest to juggling my own two children's diverse needs being part of the best preparation for teaching.

Teaching Reading is my passion, and I thrive on finding ways to link it to all of the subjects covered in 3rd grade. I feel that teaching is definitely my calling, but when I'm not in the classroom I can be found with my nose in a good book, or exploring the great outdoors with my curious school age daughters.

TEACHING HISTORY:

•2006- 2008: Third Grade Aide

•2008- Present: Teaching Language Arts portion in third grade at St. Mary.

Language Arts is simply an “umbrella” term for Reading, Writing, Spelling, Vocabulary, Handwriting, and Grammar. This makes up the morning portion of our third grade schedule. I then stay with the class as the teacher's aide through the afternoon when Mrs. Ervin joins us to teach her subjects.
